Media Blasting
Bobcat's media blasting method strips away the damaged/dead/discolored top-wood surface and old stain residue in order to expose the fresh, solid, bare wood which remains beneath.
This restores the wood to a fresher and more uniform color and opens up the wood checks/cracks to allow the new coat of stain to penetrate and better protect the wood. Applying stain over media-blasted wood always appears fresher and newer when compared to staining over old layers.
Glass bead media is our most common choice because it is very effective, environmentally friendly, and non-organic meaning it won't leave any bacteria on the surface where the stain soak in.
